Apple has now sent out invites to select media outlets for a media event on Oct 23 where it is expected to launch the iPad mini.
The event will kick off at 10am in San Jose's California Theatre, a departure from Apple's normal venues.
There are also strong rumours that Apple will launch a 13 inch version of the MacBook Pro with Retina display as well as refreshed iPad with lighting connecter.
My tip is that the invite is a clue that the new iPad mini will be available in colours similar to to the just launched iPod Touch.
